My Silent Manuscript
aniruddha kar
My surroundings: the nature and the time that are surrounded by itself– I want to feel these three. Sometimes I tried to touch them, to breath, and search the mystery of feeling – that cannot be utterly touched and cannot be seen either, need to be understood. Sometimes it will be difficult to understand if one doesn’t want to be familiar with those feelings. In fact, I don’t know either I am innate, or not, but try to touch those feelings and to represent them from my compassion.
I have tried not only to represent my feelings, but to depict the feelings of those that belong to others. I have also tried to see the outer world from outer point of view– from their values and concept that exist. So the individual came forward and be depicted on my canvas, on my color– his emotion, his delighting, his sorrow, his helplessness, his confliction of feelings, his rebelling, his revolution and even his cruelty. ‘Magician’ represents theses– may be slightest. I have tried to invent what makes people to work, what force them to do anything that he cannot avoid even if he wants earnestly. I have searched the catalyst between work and non-work. Sometimes I found the catalyst is nothing but ‘time’, sometimes it just ‘man’ himself.
All these feelings have not come to me straight that expected earlier. I feel them indifferently. So I have represented them as I fell. So the thought of sixes and sevens, without changing efforts being formed with my color in these paintings.
I haven’t tried to depict conventional series; so I painted character separately. Series paintings usually make us bound to think the same under a particular form without trying to create new sense. Thinking new is arts inspiration. So in the same structure, just putting limited new forms, I do not try to make art sterile.
I have tried to show the nostalgic, the alienation of mind in different art. And also sometimes I have just only created forms –emotionless human forms– only for the search of new dimension. Except these I have painted some birds as well. Within those I have tried to touch the space, the time that is eternal and the ultimate truth. All these innate observations and the imagination and fusion of both have been represented on my canvas.
If all or anything gives the art lovers something to cherish, that will be my real contentment.
